While we started out as multiplayer flight training group, as time has gone on and has grown into an aggregator hub for all things DCS/BMS. This is not a full on reprimand-you-for-having-your-navigation-lights-on-when-you-shouldn't-have type outfit here.you'll find we foster a laid back atmosphere to learn how to work the various modules available from Eagle Dynamics/Benchmark Sims. We only have two rules here at: 1) Don't be a dick and 2) Don't post low effort, off-topic content, or shitposts Getting Started: • Chat with the community on the • New to DCS/BMS? This is a community driven project, so please help us keep it up-to-date: • If you're new and looking to learn how to operate a new module, look into This is a Multiplayer Training session that we run every Tuesday evening (usually starting at 8PM EST). • Looking for realistic radios in DCS Multiplayer? May 29, 2018 - With every release, the A-10C seemingly gets worse and worse due to neglect. If not, the Hornet model will be in a 'beta' (tm) state for the next 3 years. It was stated by ED in the patch notes, so it shouldn't ahve been a suirprise to anyone. I'm worried about the viability of DCS World as a product. DCS World 2.5 Open Beta. Open Beta (What is DCS World Open Beta?) Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10;. Open Beta (What is DCS World Open Beta? The Open Beta version of Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) 2.5 is a free-to-play digital battlefield game and simulation environment. The 'release' version will be available shortly after Open Beta testing is complete.
Get your multiplayer manshoot knuckle-dragging fix here. I feel like I'm starting to despair about this. With every release, the A-10C seemingly gets worse and worse due to neglect. I understand the push to get the Hornet out, but in the rush to do so it feels like existing planes are getting broken and their bugs ignored.
Is Eagle Dynamics going to actually start fixing these bugs once the Hornet gets released, or are they going to just continue all of their efforts into the Hornet, effectively abandoning the A-10C? SADL has been broken for over a month. This is infuriating for anyone flying in multiplayer squadrons, as it dramatically increases the difficulty of flying in multi-ship attack pattern and coordinating on targets without reliable access to SPI sharing or datalink tasking. Even with SADL, sharing targets via tasking seemingly sends elevation to the other plane in meters rather than feet, causing target elevations to be a third of what they should be and forcing manual correction of elevations every time targets are shared this way. This has been broken for as long as I can recall,.
Honestly can't be that hard to fix. The A-10C textures still haven't been updated for deferred shading, making it semi-impossible to read many of the dials at night, even with the floodlights turned on. In the last update, the TACAN volume knob of all things broke and is seemingly permanently stuck at maximum volume. I guess I'm just venting, but it's really starting to feel like these things will never get fixed, given that the situation has been progressively getting worse and worse with every passing update. I get that releasing new craft is important, but when you break major use-cases for existing planes that people have already purchased and sank many hours into, it seriously destroys one's faith that they'll be able to continue enjoying the parts of the game they've already invested time into learning.
While the 'stop all things until you fix and hire a bunch of people' argument sounds nice at first glance, the first thing I always wonder is: In a niche of a niche market, how is ED supposed to finance a all that without releasing new stuff? Even if they don't have a drop in revenue without releasing new things, how do they increase their revenue to hire new people? Come to think of it, how large would a QA department have to be to reliably find bugs that creep in over time, how likely is it that they would have turned the TACAN knob? There's this rough estimate in games that one developer costs like 100k USD a year for pay, rent of the office, software licenses, training etc. Since they are around (iirc) 70 people by now, they have to find about 7 million USD each year in a tiny market. This means in modules about 100k Hornets (at full price). If they don't sell the Hornet because they are fixing stuff on the Hogs, how likely is it that they sell 140k Warthogs?
• • • • • • •. How likely is it that they would have turned the TACAN knob As a software engineer, something like that probably should be part of a detailed QA process for a release.
But given the likely figures involved for ED's income/expenses, I don't blame them for not having an extensive QA cycle. What I do blame them for is the length of time it takes them to go back and fix these things, and for their complete lack of communication with the community around awareness and prioritization of these bugs. Will this ever get fixed? Are they aware of and working on it?
Or is it just going to get added to the ever-growing pile of things that will pretty much never be resolved? If I had to bet at this point, I'd say it's the latter.

• • • • • • •. This is flawed thinking and promotes mediocrity.
It’s not unreasonable to expect a working product. There are plenty of other flight sims that have hurdles, but they work at their core. ED has a right to do what they please. Just as we have a right to criticize and even disagree with their decisions.
Equally, they have the right to ignore all of those concerns because its their company. When we’ve had enough.

We’ll stop playing and purchasing half completed nonsense. Until then as consumers were entitled to opinions.
• • • • • • •. I doubt it’ll ever happen in enough numbers to matter. But there are other options. They may not be as great but you can fly other things.
Dcs A 10c Manual
Though I won’t pretend they are even close to as good. And a platform that is half functional anyway can’t really call itself a sim. What is it simulating? Someone will take their place. Like BMS and Falcon And Janes and All of those other flight sims before it.
Let’s be honest this is a problematic video game. With potential to be more. I can think of plenty of other less expensive more functional flights platforms. We have options and continue to choose this one.
I’ll continue to do so as well. But think we can all agree that we’d like a bit more bang for our hundreds of bucks. And should be allowed to say so. • • • • • • •.
